About Us

Our Wedding Day - May 9, 1998

We are Eugene and Samantha and we live in Westminster, CO. We were both raised in southern CA, but moved to Colorado in January of 2007. We met through friends in late 1992 and started dating soon after that. We had been dating exclusively for about four and a half years, when we got engaged. It happened on the most romantic day of the year, Valentine’s Day. The evening was very special and romantic. A car and driver picked us up and drove us to a business near the Queen Mary in Long Beach.

The business turned out to be a helicopter service. The pilot took us on a forty-five minute tour over the greater LA area. It was an incredible flight. It was an amazing way to see the city in a completely different light. Eugene's palms were hot and sweaty. I thought he was excited about the ride, but maybe he was a little nervous about what was going to happen later in the evening. Either way, he was on a natural high. Toward the end or the flight, we flew over the beach cities, which was absolutely gorgeous.

After the tour, we were dropped off on the top of the Trans America Bbuilding in LA. We had an excellent dinner at The Tower Rrestaurant, which was on the top floor of the building. The food and service were both great, and the view was absolutely gorgeous. It would have been the best place to pop the question, providing Eugene hadn’t forgotten the ring. Oops.

After dinner, our driver drove us home, where he got on one knee and proposed. It was an evening neither one of us will forget. We had a gazebo wedding a year later on May 9th 1998 at The Golden Sails in Long Beach, California. We spent our honeymoon in beautiful Cancun, Mexico.

In early 2000 we were contacted by a member of King of Kings and invited to come to one of their services. We did and really liked what we heard. We also found out that they were part of the WELS (Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod). After going for a few months, and taking some Bible Information Classes, we became members. We were members until we moved to CO in 2007 and are now members of Shepherd of the Valley in Westminster, CO. I was the president of our women's group for a year, and now the reporter for LWMS (our women's missionary society). Eugene is currently serving on the Board of Trustees. As you can see, we jumped in with both feet.

Eugene

Eugene is of Japanese decent. He has a brother living in Garden Grove, CA and several relatives in Hawaii. He was born in Honolulu, and moved to CA when he was two years old. He is now fifty one and works for RDT, the local transportation company. He orginaly was hired as a bus operator, but after a couple of years, he got a promotion and is now working as a revenue tech. He is fixing the fare boxes and ticket machines for the train stations. He is enjoying it and being glad to be using his degree in his job. Besides electronics, he loves anything to do with aviation and machinery. He received his A.S. from Long Beach City College in the spring of 2002. He is also in the process of trying to get his pilot's license. He used to road race motorcycles at several racetracks. Other hobbies include shooting, reading, computer gaming and net surfing.

Samantha

Samantha was born in Long Beach, CA and lived in Los Alamitos most of her young life. Her mom and stepdad live in Frazier Park, CA. She has a sister who lives in Corona, CA and a brother who lives in Fullerton, CA. They both have three children that she loves dearly. She is forty eight and for the last 3 years has been working as a Tech Support Coordinator for a company that manages back up care for children as well as adult. In her last position, she was a support technician for Cam Commerce Solutions in Fountain Valley, CA. She worked there for over 13 1/2 years until there were sold overnight and she was let go by the new company. No call, no interview, no explanation. She was kicked to the curb like a piece of trash. While working at Cam, she earned her AS in Computer Applications from Cypress College in spring of 1999 and her BA in Occupation Studies from Long Beach State University in spring of 2006. She loves the computer, and can never get enough of it. Just ask Eugene. She enjoyed working from home for Cam, but now has to go into the office everyday. Luckily it's close, and she is getting to meet new people. Other hobbies include Angels baseball, (sports in general,) reading, playing with the dogs, chatting with freinds online or on the phone, and movie watching.
